East Hartford-based aerospace company Pratt & Whitney has secured a $355 million contract with South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration to provide support for the Republic of Korea Air Force’s fleet of F-15 Eagles and F-16 Fighting Falcons.
South Korea previously acquired 180 F-16 Fighting Falcon and 60 F-15K fighter aircrafts.
The new contract is Pratt & Whitney’s third consecutive performance-based logistics sustainment contract with South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program since 2012. Under the contract, Pratt & Whitney will provide ongoing maintenance support for the fleet.
The contract is meant to help improve the efficiency of operations and improve overall fleet readiness through long-term material forecasting, according to the announcement.
Work began in December of 2023 and will run through the second half of 2027.
