East Hartford jet-engine maker Pratt & Whitney will get a new president next year as longtime executive Shane Eddy prepares to retire after more than four decades with the aerospace manufacturer, the company announced.
Parent company RTX said Jill Albertelli will take over as president of East Hartford-based Pratt & Whitney on Jan. 1, 2027. She will report to RTX Chairman and CEO Chris Calio.
Albertelli most recently served as president of Pratt & Whitney’s Military Engines business. During more than 30 years with the company, she has held roles involving engineering, manufacturing, supply chain management, quality, commercial programs, sales and strategy.
Her recent responsibilities included overseeing Pratt & Whitney’s work on the F135 engine, which powers the F-35 fighter jet.
Albertelli holds an engineering degree from Boston University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Eddy, who became Pratt & Whitney president in 2022, will remain with RTX through March 2027 as a special adviser during the leadership transition. His career with the company spans more than 40 years, beginning as a flight line mechanic.
As president, Eddy has overseen Pratt & Whitney during a period of increased production and maintenance activity involving its commercial Geared Turbofan engines and the military F135 program.
RTX, based in Arlington, Virginia, employs more than 180,000 people globally and reported more than $88 billion in sales in 2025.
