🔒Pratt & Whitney awarded $1.3B contract for military engine parts 

East Hartford jet-engine maker Pratt & Whitney has been awarded a $1.3 billion contract modification to produce spare parts for the F135 engine, which powers the military’s F-35 fighter jet. The F135 powers all three variants of the F-35 Lightning II, including for international governments. Pratt says that the contract will fund initial spare parts requirements for fiscal year 2026, as well associated support equipment in support of U.S. and international F-35 customers. "This contract will help strengthen our global sustainment network to ensure operators around the world can continue to rely on the F135's unmatched performance," said Chris Johnson, vice president of Pratt & Whitney's F135 program. The company maintains a global network that includes multiple depot facilities and support for 42 bases and 13 ships worldwide. Pratt says it has delivered more than 1,500 F135 production engines to a worldwide customer base spanning 20 nations.
