Pratt, UTC announce more airshow deals

On day two of the Farnborough International Airshow, Pratt & Whitney and its parent United Technologies announced another slew of deals with airlines.

Pratt said it will provide PurePower engines for 30 Embraer aircraft run by Azul Brazilian Airlines and for 10 of Phillipine Airlines’ Airbus A320neo planes.

Pratt said SaudiGulf Airlines would buy V2500 engines to power four Airbus A320ceo planes. SaudiGulf is a new airline in Saudi Arabia planning to commence services next year.

Meanwhile, UTC said it will supply wheels and carbon breaks to Jet Airways and Jet Lite for their new fleet of 50 Boeing planes, and to Cathay Pacific Airways for 48 Airbus planes.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
