Turkish Airlines’ new airliner fleet will have engines made by a consortium in which Pratt & Whitney Co. of East Hartford is a partner, a deal that would value Pratt’s share of the order at about $165 million, Pratt said.
International Aero Engines (IAE) was chosen to supply its V2500 turbofans to power the national carrier of Turkey’s firm order for 20 Airbus A320 airliners, plus options for 10 more.
Along with Pratt, IAE is comprised of Rolls-Royce, the Japanese Aero Engines Corp. and MTU Aero Engines.
