East Hartford aerospace manufacturer Pratt & Whitney said German airline Lufthansa has ordered PurePower engines for 30 Airbus A320neo planes.
The order doubles the number of Lufthansa planes that will be powered by Pratt engines, the company said. The airline ordered engines for 30 planes in 2011, with deliveries to start in 2015.
Deliveries for the add-on order will start in 2019, according to Pratt, which is a subsidiary of Hartford’s United Technologies.
