A commercial jet-engine consortium in which Pratt & Whitney Co. of East Hartford is a partner landed an order from a Mideast aircraft leasing firm, with Pratt’s share of the contract valued at more than $112 million.
The aircraft leasing and financial business arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise chose the consortium, International Aero Engines, to supply V2500 engines for its 20 Airbus A320 fleet.
IAE’s shareholders include Pratt, Rolls-Royce, the Japanese Aero Engines Corp. and MTU Aero Engines.
Separately, Pratt also announced today its first deliveries to the Pakistani air force of engines for that nation’s fleet of F-16 jetfighters.
The deliveries are part of an approximately $150 million order Pratt will fulfill through 2010.
Pratt made both announcements from the Dubai Air Show.
