Pratt & Whitney has been awarded a $115 million contract modification on its F-135 military engine program.
The extra award adds scope to procure long-lead time materials for the future production and delivery of the engines that power the F-35 fighter jet.
The Joint Strike Fighter program is making aircraft for the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy and for foreign military sales.
In 2023, The East Hartford company was designated as the sole source provider of the F-135 for another seven years, beating out competition from General Electric.
The Pentagon then announced it would give Pratt multiple follow-on contracts to extend the company’s work on the program.
In October last year, Pratt was awarded a $1.3 billion contract for work on the Engine Core Upgrade Propulsion System.
