Pratt & Whitney Co. issued a $45 million contract to a British defense and aerospace manufacturer to provide the East Hartford jet-engine builder with advanced composites for military aircraft engines, Dow Jones reports.
Cobham PLC said Tuesday it has a five-year agreement with Pratt a division of United Technologies Corp. in Hartford.
Cobham will produce advanced, medium- and high-temperature composite structures for both Pratt’s F135 and F119 engines at Cobham’s state-of-the-art production facilities in Suffolk, Va., and San Diego, Calif.
