Pratt inks long-term service deal with JetBlue

East Hartford jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney has inked a 13-year service agreement to provide maintenance and support for engines that power JetBlue Airways’ A320ceo family fleet.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

“[Pratt’s] engine has been the workhorse of the JetBlue fleet since the airline’s inception,” said Steve Priest, JetBlue’s CFO. “This agreement provides predictable maintenance and supports efficient operations needed to serve our customers for many years to come.”

JetBlue has ordered 85 planes to fill the fleet for which Pratt is providing engine maintenance, JetBlue said. Ten of those aircraft have already been delivered.

Pratt & Whitney chief commercial officer Rick Deurloo said the deal represents a continuation of a longstanding relationship between the manufacturer — a subsidiary of Massachusetts-based defense manufacturer Raytheon Technologies — and JetBlue.

“We are committed to partnering with the airline on V2500 engine maintenance to optimize fleet performance well into the future,” Deurloo said.
