East Hartford engine maker Pratt & Whitney Co. signed a deal to deliver as many as 80 motors to power new commercial aircraft for regional carrier Republic Airways.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
According to Pratt, the deal is for 40 firm and up to 40 options for its relatively quieter and full-efficient PW1000G engines for the twin-engine Bombardier CSeries aircraft that Republic has ordered.
Republic also signed a 15-year maintenance deal with Pratt on the motors.
Republic Airways, based in Indianapolis, owns Chautauqua Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Lynx Aviation, Midwest Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America. Â
