Pratt inks 15-year deal for Chinese facility

East Hartford jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney has signed a 15-year renewal for its joint venture to support a customer training center in Beijing, China. The center has been in operation for more than a decade and provided training for more than 14,000 students in China, Russia, Singapore, Thailand and Korea, making for the equivalent of 300,000 hours of training.

The 15-year agreement between United Technologies Far East Ltd. And the China Aviation Supplies Holding Co. is focused on helping Pratt’s Asian customers support their engine purchases.

Pratt and its partner IAE International Aero Engines powers a fleet of more than 1,200 aircraft in China.

Pratt is a subsidiary of Farmington conglomerate United Technologies Corp.
