Pratt, IAE partners extend pact to 2045

The consortium that for 28 years has linked East Hartford’s Pratt & Whitney Co. and several of the world’s leading jet-engine rivals has extended its partnership through mid century.

International Aero Engines AG’s (IAE) executive board of directors announced the extension of its collaboration agreement to 2045.

IAE is a multi-national aircraft engine consortium comprised of Pratt & Whitney, Britain’s Rolls-Royce, Japanese Aero Engines Corp. and Germany’s MTU Aero Engines. Pratt is a division of United Technologies Corp. in Hartford.

The deal was announced at the Paris Air Show, where Pratt, Rolls and many of the nation’s other leading aerospace manufactures and suppliers are for a week-long period of dealmaking and schmoozing.
