Pratt gets $1B shuttle contract

In a $975 million contract extension, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, a United Technologies Corp. company based in Hartford, has signed on with NASA to continue maintaining space shuttle main engines through 2010. This contract comes after a string of recent awards for the company. Last month, PWR was awarded a $1.2 billion contract to design, develop and test engines for specific launch vehicles.
