Pratt & Whitney Canada – a unit of the East Hartford jet-engine builder — is selling its maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Australia for PT6A turboprop engines to Vector Aerospace Corp., Upi.com reports.
As part of the transaction, Vector’s newly purchased facility will be appointed a Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) for PT6A engines by Pratt & Whitney Canada. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
“P&WC has been exploring ways to optimize its network while continuing to provide our customers with outstanding service,” said Raffaele Virgili, Pratt Canada’s vice president of customer service. “P&WC is continuously reassessing and adjusting its global footprint by leveraging its service network and its DOF network.’’
