Pratt buys JAL stake in their turbine venture

East Hartford jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney says bought Japan Airlines’ stake in their joint venture repair facility, Japan Turbine Technologies, The Associated Press reports.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Pratt & Whitney and Japan Airlines had operated the turbine facility near Tokyo since 2000. The airline held a 33.4 percent stake. With the deal, Japan Turbine is wholly owned by Pratt & Whitney.

Pratt & Whitney is a unit of United Technologies Corp. in Hartford.
