The U.S. Air Force has modified a contract for Pratt & Whitney by $313.9 million so the East Hartford jet engine maker can maintain engines that power the F-22 Raptor Aircraft.
The fifth generation engines are labeled F119-PW-100 engines. Pratt is a division of Farmington-based United Technologies Corp.
The Defense Department said Friday the contract covers the necessary engine parts for the coming year.
Besides Connecticut, work will take place in California, Alaska, Hawaii, Utah, New Mexico, Virginia, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma and Florida through Dec. 31, 2017.

The service branch had already awarded Pratt & Whitney a $317.8 million contract modification for F119 engine maintenance in January.
