“Our success is based on communication,” says Maria Scarpa, executive vice president of PPI Benefit Solutions. “We are communicative about the expected challenges and we make sure our employees have the skills to meet those challenges.”
Recognition of success is not always more money, but more responsibility, more challenges, new projects, she explains. There’s a knowledge that employees will grow and be rewarded with new opportunities.
“One size doesn’t fit all so we offer our employees a free gym on site, the freedom to wear jeans some days, acknowledgement and celebration of personal or professional accomplishments and meaningful holidays,” Scarpa adds. “We make sure everyone knows they are valued for more than their job, they are valued as people.”
