Power grid picks three board members

Regional electric grid administrator ISO New England picked one new board member and re-elected two others, who will be responsible for managing wholesale power markets and planning the region’s electric needs.

The new board member is Roberto Denis, who most recently worked in systems and compliance for Las Vegas-based NV Energy, where he helped build a transmission line. Prior to that, he worked at electric utility Florida Light & Power, where he served as vice president of market and regulatory affairs.

The re-elected board members are Paul Levy and Christopher Wilson, who joined the board in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Levy is former president and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and Wilson has three decades experience in the financial sector.

The ISO board helps set policies and manages the organization that ensures the region is generating and importing enough electricity to meet power demand. This includes running daily and forward-looking auctions that ultimately influence how much consumers will pay for electricity.
