Post University’s School of Business is vying for accreditation for its curricula from one of the nation’s leading sanctioning organizations that has certified business-degree programs at other Connecticut universities.
The 121-year-old Waterbury college said the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) has approved its candidacy for accreditation.
Post will receive a formal candicacy certificate at the ACBSP accreditation-conference banquet June 26 in Indianapolis.
The university also has been assigned a mentor who will guide the school through the accreditation process that can take several years to complete.
In addition to preparing a self-study of the university’s current business programs, the accreditation process includes site visit by a team of peer evaluators. The ACBSP Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commission has the final say on accreditation.
Other Connecticut business schools, including University of Harford, University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University, bear the ACBSP seal.
