Post University in Waterbury has launched an online Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program as a new resource for nursing students and working RNs in Connecticut and the Northeast.
The RN-to-BSN degree follows a National Institute of Medicine recommendation that 80 percent of nurses have bachelor’s degrees by 2020, reported Post, which is now enrolling students in the program.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is typically is required for nurse administrator positions in most hospitals, according to Post. An increasing number of hospitals have begun recruiting only nurses with BSNs.
