A marina operator with facilities in Maine, New York and Maryland recently paid $3 million to acquire a marina near the mouth of the Connecticut River in Old Lyme.
In a deed recorded Feb. 12, a limited liability company affiliated with Portland, Maine-based DiMillo’s Yacht Sales paid $2.35 million for the Old Lyme Marina property at 34 Neck Road and another $650,000 for a neighboring 0.13-acre property hosting a 1780-vintage, four-bedroom house.
On its website, DiMillo’s announced the acquisition of the marina as its eighth location. The location will operate as a full-service DiMillo’s Yacht Sales facility, offering yacht sales, brokerage, service and marina amenities.
The marina had been operated by the Abrahamsson family since 1974.
The two limited liability companies that sold the properties to DiMillo’s list their principals as Glen S. Abrahamsson, of East Lyme; Kristine A. Folsom, of Pomfret; Alan L. Abrahamsson, of Weston; and Lisa A. Russo, of Weston.
The principals of the buying LLC include Christopher DiMillo, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Sean O’Malley, of Wells, Maine. O’Mally is president of DiMillo’s.
The 1.18-acre marina property at 34 Neck Road includes a 2,331-square-foot, clapboard-sided commercial building dating to 1950, and a 6,000-square-foot garage built in 1998, as well as 25 boat slips, according to town assessor records.
