Meriden’s Planet Home Lending added a 20-member team in Woodbury, N.Y. to its portfolio of mortgage professionals and announced further plans to expand in Queens and North Jersey.
The new group is led by Regional Vice Presidents Jason Morano and Chris Wubbenhorst. Morano said the brokers were drawn to Planet Home Lending due to its ability to help borrowers who may be self-employed or part of the gig economy.Â
“While their income streams may not be standard, they are excellent candidates for homeownership. Planet has the resources we need to help these borrowers purchase a home,” Morano said.Â
Michael Dubeck, CEO and president of Planet Financial Group, parent of Planet Home Lending, said, “The Woodbury team is impressive in the fact that together they speak a variety of languages, enabling them to better connect with borrowers, understand their goals and deliver the solutions, resources and support they need.”
Planet Home Lending has opened two offices in New York in recent months and plans to expand in 2023 by adding an additional 20 loan originators in Queens and North Jersey, according to Morano.
Earlier this month, the company announced it would be opening a new branch office in Lehigh Valley, Penn.
The company reported a 14.1% increase in home loan volume in the third quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter, according to a company statement.
In addition to programs to help homebuyers, Planet Home Lending offers a personal digital mortgage assistant, Skymore, which allows users to apply for a home loan via a mobile device.Â
