Planet Fitness, which has 16.5 million members and 2,324 locations throughout the country, recently opened a new fitness center in Middletown.
The new club, located at 840 Washington St., officially opened for business on July 18.
Planet Fitness said it invested $2.7 million to open the club, which has cardio machines, strength equipment and other fitness wares.
Florsheim said the approximately 21,000-square-foot facility has “easy access to transportation, new shops and restaurants, and our vibrant Main Street.”
The Middletown site will feature flat-screen televisions, fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers, HydroMassage beds and massage chairs.
According to the company, more than 90% of Planet Fitness branches are owned and operated by independent business people.
