A plan to build a 20-unit, four-story apartment building with 3,300 square feet of retail space in Wilton has been given the green light.
The town’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday voted 6-0 to approve a proposal by Dominick and Sara Polito, of Wilton, to erect the building on a 0.53-acre lot at 118 Old Ridgebury Road. A three-story office building on the property will be razed to make way for the apartment building and 29 parking spaces.
The building will have seven, one-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 674 to 951 square feet; nine, two-bedroom units covering 1,185 to 1,629 square feet; and four, three-bedroom units ranging in size from 1,620 to 1,712 square feet.
There will be a one-bedroom affordable unit on the fourth floor and a two-bedroom affordable unit on the second floor.
“The proposed structure takes many architectural and massing cues from other mixed-use and residential structures in the neighborhood,” the application said.
