The parent company of Plan b says the upscale burger bar will open its 10th location in Southington this winter.
The Locals 8 Restaurant Group, which also owns The Half Door in Hartford and Butchers & Bakers in Farmington, announced Monday it’s occupying and renovating the former Bertucci’s restaurant building at 20 Spring St. ahead of its opening in February.
The 5,018-square-foot restaurant will seat about 150 people and employ 50 to 60 workers when fully operational, officials said.
Al Gamble, founder and chief executive of the restaurant group, said Plan b will look to build business partnerships with area farms, breweries and businesses.
Plan b’s menu will include Black Angus beef, turkey, chicken, pork and fish, in addition to appetizers and other items. The Southington restaurant will also offer new specialty items, like wood-fired pizzas, that are not sold at other locations.
Founded in 2006, the Locals 8 Restaurant Group also owns and operates Plan b locations in West Hartford, Glastonbury, Simsbury, Milford, Fairfield, Springfield, Mass., Washington, D.C., and Ashburn, Va. The group also owns Tisane Euro Asian Cafe in Hartford.
