Plan b Burger Bar plans to open its first location in Hartford at 35 Front St., replacing Ted’s Montana Grill, which closed in 2020.
The restaurant known for its burgers, beer and bourbon expects to open its new location in early October.
The restaurant will be part of the Front Street development, which is home to several restaurants near the Connecticut Convention Center, Infinity Music Hall and the University of Connecticut’s Hartford campus.
“We believe in Hartford and are thrilled to be a part of the Hartford community,” said Allie J. Gamble, founder and CEO of Locals 8 Hospitality Group, Plan b’s parent company. “… Listening to and supporting our local community has been the secret sauce to our success. Each of our locations is different because they cater to their neighborhood.”
The Hartford location will offer a Sunday brunch menu and catering for business lunches, corporate events and private parties.
The restaurant will have a “classic look and feel” and a newly renovated bar. The 4,600-square-foot restaurant will seat about 160.
Plan b has locations in Glastonbury, Milford, Simsbury, Southington and West Hartford.
It also has a location at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass., and one in Washington, D.C., which is temporarily closed.
Plan b’s Hartford restaurant will be the fourth Locals 8 business in the capital city.
