Plainville woodworking firm sold to private company

Modern Woodcrafts, an architectural millwork company based in Plainville, was sold this month to a private firm, according to the advisor that negotiated the deal.

Generational Equity, a mergers and acquisitions advisor for privately held businesses headquartered in Dallas, said its client Modern Woodcrafts LLC was sold to an unnamed private investor March 3.

Located at 72 Northwest Drive, Plainville, in the Farmington Industrial Park, Modern Woodcrafts specializes in woodwork designs to contractors remodeling high-end commercial buildings. The company has been around for more than 60 years and has work featured in several skyscraper buildings in New York City, according to the company’s website.

Representatives from Generational Equity said the buyer asked to remain anonymous.
