Mail and document-management company Pitney Bowes Inc. spent $210,000 in the first quarter to lobby health on care reform and legislation affecting the U.S. Postal Service and the banking industry, the Associated Press reports, citing public filings.
The figure is a 28 percent decline from the $290,000 the Stamford company spent on lobbying last year.
Pitney Bowes is regulated by the postal service and lobbies frequently on legislation affecting the federal agency. It lobbied both chambers of Congress as well as the postal service directly during the January-to-March period.
The company also lobbied the House of Representatives and the Senate on health care reform, specifically employee wellness plan issues. It also lobbied on Wall Street reform legislation affecting industrial loan corporations.
