Stamford communication equipment provide Pitney Bowes announced its first global sale to the direct mail market, opening a new realm for the Connecticut company.
Pitney sold its Print+ Messenger systems to Florida marketing firm Wilen Direct, the first global sale of the systems that was developed jointly between Pitney and HP.
The Print+ allows customers to print colorful, personalized envelopes with company logos, addresses and postal barcodes in many variations without needing to make drastic changes to the print process.
“Wilen’s management understands that data-driven companies have a competitive advantage over those that are still using guesswork to determine what their customers and prospects want,” said Ramesh Ratan, president, Pitney Bowes Document messaging technologies, in a press release. “Harnessing the power of data to create individually-customized messages outside the envelope is a fantastic approach that I predict smart marketers will embrace.”
