Pitney Bowes lauded for diversity

Stamford-based Pitney Bowes Inc. has been ranked on Diversity MBA magazine’s “Best Places for Diverse Managers to Work” list, the company said today.

The mailing-equipment manufacturer ranked 27th out of 50 companies on the list, based on the organization’s commitment to global diversity and leadership development opportunities for women and people of color.

Pitney Bowes will be honored Sept. 16 at the magazine’s annual awards and leadership forum in Chicago.

“We recruit, mentor and retain diverse talent to ensure that we develop the managers, leaders and systems necessary to maintain diversity of thought and talent for more robust programs and services,” said Susan Johnson, Pitney-Bowes vice president for strategic talent management and diversity leadership.

The Diversity MBA magazine results were based on an evaluation of retention, inclusion practices, recruitment strategies and accountability. In addition, diversity programs, representation in management of women and people of color and a pipeline for diverse managers were criteria considered.

An internal validation method using management and board diversity representation was also used.
