The Phoenix Cos. has agreed to pay its chief investment officer a $175,000 cash reward if the Hartford insurer becomes a current filer with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission by the end of September.
Christopher M. Wilkos will receive the payment after the company files its Sept. 30 quarterly financials with the SEC, Phoenix said Friday.
That filing would catch Phoenix up with its disclosure obligations, more than 19 months after the company began working to correct previous errors in its financial reporting.
In April, the company said it had granted a one-time cash award of $350,000 to Bonnie J. Malley, chief financial officer, for her work during the restatement process.
