Hartford boutique insurer The Phoenix Cos. said the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has ranked it 34th on its list of adoption-friendly employers.
The ranking is based on an analysis of companies’ adoption benefits. Phoenix said it offers up to three weeks of paid leave within the first six months of a child’s adoption by an employee, and the company also pays 80 percent of the adoption-related expenses up to $9,000 per adoption or up to $10,000 for a special needs child’s adoption. The benefits can be used for up to two adoptions.
Phoenix has made the foundation’s list every year since 2007, it said.
