PETIT MEMORIAL TOURNEY MARCH 19

The Dunk It! Petit MS Memorial Basketball Tournament is returning March 19 for a fourth year. The co-ed basketball tournament was created to honor the memory and celebrate the lives of Jennifer Hawke-Petit, and her daughters, Hayley and Michaela Petit. Pictured are, from left, Cheshire residents Justin Ivey, Jesse Sheehan, Dr. William Petit Jr., Megan Alexander and Wayne Lawrence. Ivey, Alexander and Lawrence, friends of the slain Petit women, founded the tournament in 2008 and will serve as coordinators for the 2011 event, set for Saturday, March 19, at Cheshire High School. The event has raised more than $30,000 in three years for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter and the Hayley’s Hope and Michaela’s Miracle MS Memorial Fund.
