People’s United Bank said it hired New York Times executive David Norton to run the Bridgeport lender’s human resources operation.
Norton, as senior executive vice president and chief human resources officer, serves on People’s management committee and reports directly to CEO Philip R. Sherringham.
Norton also was a human-resource manager for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, snack-food maker Frito-Lay, and The Quaker Oats Co.
