Peloton, the maker of high-end and connected exercise bikes and treadmills, has closed its two Connecticut showrooms as it reported another significant quarterly loss.
The company has closed its stores at Westfarms mall and at 58 Main St. in Westport. The closest locations to Connecticut are now in New York and Massachusetts.
During its fiscal year 2022 second quarter, which ended Dec. 31, Peloton reported a net loss of $333.5 million, an improvement from the $439.4 million the company lost in the year-ago period.
Nationally, Peloton has been closing warehouses and shifting to third-party deliveries as it undergoes a restructuring.
In December 2022, Peloton announced that it planned to close 16 showrooms in the United States and Canada at the beginning of 2023 – about 20% of its total number in the region.
Last summer, Peloton slashed 780 jobs and increased its prices, CNBC reported.
