Mayor Eddie Perez was on hand to proclaim Oct. 20 as “Driving Uninterrupted Day” in Hartford, and help kick-off The Hartford Pothole Patrol — a civic partnership between the city of Hartford and The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. In response to The Hartford 2009 Drivability Survey, an interactive online poll was developed to empower Hartford citizens to upload pothole horror stories, review safety tips and vote on specific locations within their city that are in need of immediate repair. On Tuesday, The Pothole Patrol hit the streets to fill the pothole that received the most online votes, along with others. The initiative continued in Hartford for five business days.
