Three private equity investors – two of whom worked together at New York private equity firm Brightstar Capital Partners – have founded a new Greenwich firm focused on buying and scaling family and founder-owned businesses in the service and industrial sectors.
Matthew Allard, a Brightstar Capital partner from 2017 to 2024, and Charles Hill, a Brightstar Capital associate from 2022 to 2024, have launched Case Study Capital Partners, with Jeffrey Cordover, president of Corber Corp., a private investment firm managing his family’s capital across public equities, private equity and real estate.
Allard is Case Study Capital’s founder and managing partner, while Hill is vice president and Cordover is a founding partner, according to the company’s website.
The new firm, which is headquartered at 1 Park Ave., targets businesses with $5 million to $25 million in EBITDA and will invest $25 million to $100 million of equity in each company it acquires, including follow-on capital. Investment structures include majority recapitalizations and primary growth equity, the firm said.
Case Study Capital said it will add value to companies by creating operational improvements, commercial acceleration, leadership development and systems enhancement. The firm said it will also support digital modernization initiatives, such as the use of AI, when appropriate.
