Julie A. Parr is the new associate vice president for development at Quinnipiac University in Hamden.
Parr, of New Haven, oversees the university’s development officers in the School of Business, School of Communications, School of Law and College of Arts and Sciences. She also is responsible for cultivating prospective donors and overseeing the staff in foundation relations, grant writing and planned giving.
She spent a decade at the University of Pennsylvania, where she held development posts in the Wharton School and at Pennsylvania Hospital, Penn’s academic medical center, where she was chief development officer.
She also has worked as director of development for the Connecticut Fund for the Environment.
Parr holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Penn State and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania.
