East Hartford-based Paradigm Healthcare Development has agreed to purchase the license to operate the financially struggling South Windsor Rehabilitation and Nursing
Center, which has been in state receivership for more than a year, officials said.
Paradigm officials said Superior Court Judge Jerry Wagner has approved the deal, and that the health care operator has already taken control of operating the facility.
The 120-bed South Windsor Rehabilitation & Nursing Center was placed into receivership in 2010 after falling behind on rent payments, state officials said.
Paradigm Healthcare has six other skilled nursing facilities in Torrington, Prospect, New Haven, West Haven, Waterbury and Norwalk.
The company’s vision includes developing specialty services within the continuum including pulmonary and wound care as well as peritoneal dialysis and memory support for Alzheimer’s patients in its facilities.
