Paier College gets OK to offer master’s degrees

Bridgeport-based Paier College can now offer master’s degree programs in design and marketing communications, a state accrediting agency has ruled.

The Connecticut Office of Higher Education approved the two new master’s-level programs at Paier in global media and communication studies and design management.

Paier President Joseph M. Bierbaum said, “The addition of master’s degrees to our academic programs is a logical next step in helping our students pursue successful careers in high-demand fields like communication and design.”

“We plan to add more graduate degree programs in the future across our departments,” Bierbaum added.

Paier has continued to add offerings as its student population expands;  enrollment grew more than 250% from 2019 to 2021, the college said in a statement.

Programs in web application design and mobile application design were added in January, and Paier launched bachelor’s programs in industrial design, digital marketing, mass communications, and marketing last fall.

Formerly located in Hamden, Paier moved its operations to the University of Bridgeport campus last summer as part of a co-location model with Goodwin University in 2021.
