Packing up, moving out

If you’d like to pack up your desk and move, you’re not alone. In a recent study by Harris Interactive, nearly 60 percent of employees surveyed said they would be willing to relocate to another city for a new job and 44 percent said they would relocate to another state. The study, including 2,500 hiring managers and 6,000 employees, revealed that 34 percent of employers have paid to relocate an employee within the company in the last two years. Forty percent of employers are willing to pay $1,000 in relocation costs and one-in-ten would spend more than $10,000. A shortage of qualified workers was cited as driving the relocation trend.
