According to numbers supplied by the state Department of Economic and Community Development, 504 housing permits were issued in November. The bulk of those were for developments with 5 or more units.
Year over year numbers are not available because the U.S. Census Bureau, which supplies the data analyzed by DECD, only covers 104 towns and cities in Connecticut. In 2014, the numbers reflected permits in 128 municipalities. In those figures, 213 housing permits were authorized in November 2014.
In November 2015, a total of 515 permits were issued. Of those, 304 were for developments with five or more units. The next highest was 173 for single-unit permits. In November, 28 permits were issued for buildings with 3 to 4 units, while there were 10 duplex permits in place.
