Otis plants century flags in German soil

The German unit of Otis Elevator on Thursday planted 100 trees outside its Berlin office and throughout the district of Reinickendorf commemorating its 100th anniversary doing business in the European nation.

Otis Germany’s first elevator installation was at the Hamburg Elbe Tunnel in 1911.

Currently, the German unit employs more than 2,600 and maintains more than 96,000 elevators and escalators.  In 2009, Otis says it posted revenues there of more than $636 million.
