Otis gets Middle East mega-mall deal

Farmington-based Otis Elevator has landed a deal to build 49 elevators, 40 escalators and 24 moving walkways for the largest mall in the smallest country of the Middle East, Bahrain. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Called Bahrain City Centre, the 1.6 million square foot space includes 300 stores, two five-star hotels, the region’s largest water park, a 20-screen cinema and a 6,000-car garage. Majid Al Futtaim Group is developing the project.
