RE: House Moves To Extend Unemployment Benefits

It’s great that Connecticut is for this but why hasn’t anyone discussed some extended benefits for states like Connecticut who don’t qualify under the current bills in congress. I can’t wait until Connecticut hits 8.5 percent. I have bills to pay! Renee myfamilybusiness My rate of unemployment is 100 percent, and I have a recently acquired Masters degree, from a CT located university. I need my $163 per week, if even for 13 weeks longer. RE: Program Asks Consumers To Help New England Farmers

It is time to stand up for our farms! I am saddened to see the farms slowly disappearing, I love to buy local and sometimes have a hard time finding them in the store. We need to really make a strong statement to all the stores that we will not buy from them unless they use local farmers. The market in Chicago is hurting our farmers and we helped them once, we can do it again! Remember Farm Aide! Patricia Bruhn Pebbles Graphics

RE: CT, Other States Press For Jobless Aid Extension

RE: Pratt Closing Central CT Plants, Idling 1,000 Jobs

So yesterday [Secretary of the Susan] Bysiewicz says [announced that the state is] doubling the small business fees for business owners registered in Connecticut. Today, she criticizes companies for not doing more to help Connecticut employees by remaining in the state. They just don’t get it. Connecticut is not “business friendly.” Tom, unemployed

RE: Memo To Pratt: Think Of My 401 (k)

Hey I guess that means the budget is no longer balanced. What a joke Connecticut has become, all thanks to the criminal class of Republicans and Democrats. Tien Kou

RE: Red Cross Dispute

I plan on holding off on donation of plasma until this labor dispute is over. As far as running a deficit, why is it that the top Red Cross officials are still receiving large raises and bonuses? David G. Testa

RE: Nappier: Cut UTC Execs’ Pay, Save Pratt Jobs

That’s a great idea! Maybe we can cut all the union executives pay too. Then we can cut half of our elected officials. They don’t seem to be doing much anyway. While we’re at it, lets get rid of 50 percent of all state workers too. Look at all the money that can saved!!! Give me a break. Richard K. Johnson, Custom Printing & Copy Inc.

Kudos for a great solution to keep the UTC employees working. Good for Nappier to suggest what is morally right! This solution will keep families in their homes, food on the table and avoid additional filing for unemployment benefits when the numbers are already staggering in our state. Lisa Cyr, DisplayCraft Inc.

It’s amazing that these five guys take all the credit. What about all the engineers, project managers, factory workers that are working for a fraction of the amount paid to these guys? These men and woman are the ones that make it happen along with the countless amount of people working in the job shops across the state. Without these people, these top five guys would have to do it all themselves. Can you imagine that? Brokering the deal, designing the engines, tooling the dies, manufacturing the parts all by themselves and making it happen all within the project scheduled time frame? Roy McNally, Robert H. Lord Co.

RE: Government, Business Must Be Partners

Ahhhhh, business and government together. Didn’t Hitler and Mussolini think the same way. Tien Kou
