OSHA: CT trucking lawsuit violates whistleblower law

The owner of a trucking company in North Branford who filed a lawsuit against two former employees who reported safety concerns to police and state officials must withdraw the suit and pay the two men $60,000, the U.S. Department of Labor announced.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) said the lawsuit by Palumbo Trucking owner David Palumbo, which accused the men of maliciously and intentionally filing a complaint with local police, violates whistleblower protections in the federal Surface Transportation Assistance Act.
