Orthopedic Associates opens first area office in Hamden

Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, one of Connecticut’s largest orthopedic specialty groups, said it has opened its first New Haven County office in Hamden.

Dr. Theodore Blaine, an expert in minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and elbow, joined OAH in January and sees patients in the new office at 2080 Whitney Ave. He also sees patients in Hartford, Stamford and Rocky Hill.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Blaine join the OAH team and expand our presence in the New Haven area,” said CEO Timothy Taylor. “He is a recognized leader in the orthopedic world and his reputation as a shoulder specialist is second to none in the region.”

Blaine, who previously served as interim chair of orthopedics and chief of shoulder and elbow surgery at Yale University School of Medicine, treats high-performance athletes and is team physician for many of the state’s elite sports programs.
