A Hamden firm that manages golf courses throughout the state will run Hartford’s Keney and Goodwin Park courses, the city said today.
The Common Council approved leasing the two public courses to MDM Golf, Mayor Eddie Perez said. The courses open for the season in a few weeks, Perez said.
Under the lease, MDM agreed, among other things, to capital improvements in both courses totaling $2.4 million in the first 10 years; improve customer service; and not to raise fees in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
MDM operates Bloomfield’s Gillette Ridge Golf Club, Long Hill Country Club in East Hartford, Minnechaug in Glastonbury, and Twin Lakes golf course in North Branford.
