Open Solutions co-founder dies

Cliff Waggoner, the former Navy officer and technology executive who co-founded Glastonbury-based Open Solutions Inc., died Friday of cancer, the company said. He was 66. Waggoner helped grow the company from what was a small operation in a basement in 1992 to a major provider of the software and back-end technology used by banks and other financial services institutions. It now employs 1,900 people across the United States, Canada and abroad.
